About The Church of Philadelphia
Imagine a church that's working to create better communities, encourages growth of the family, and cultivates leaders for the church of tomorrow. That's the Church of Philadelphia...that's our church.
What We're All About
First, you may ask... why be called the "Church of Philadelphia"? Well, this is what the bible says and what we pattern our church after...
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
— Revelations 3:7-8 KJV
Church of Philadelphia is here to encourage all people to pursue a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. Our history dates back to 1999, when our Senior Pastor Clavon Leonard, founded a small church in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are a non-denominational, apostolic Christian church. That means that we are governed by our own church staff, not an outside organization.
We are a church family infused with dynamic faith, committed to a common vision, joined together in covenant love. We thrive to be a multi-cultural and multi-generational dynamic ministry. We are committed to our three keys to a life-giving ministry: to be biblically literate, culturally relevant, and spiritually sensitive. We believe in a bright, colorful, positive, church culture. We abide by faith, hope and love. We are building a church that the "unchurched" are attracted to, filled with light, life, vision, purpose, loving people, great music and life-changing teaching.
